February 22, 2012
A Boston University junior from Thousand Oaks pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to raping another student.
Max Nicastro, 21, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly assaulting the female student on campus. The junior defenseman and 2008 Detroit Red Wings draft pick was freed on $10,000 bail. He was also ordered to have no contact with the woman.
Boston University athletic director Michael Lynch said Nicastro has also been suspended from the hockey team. Nicastro is the second Boston University hockey player accused of sexual assault this season.
