Westlake HS Grad Makes it to Final 4 of TV Reality Show

Thousand Oaks natives Robert Roldan is one of the final four contestants in Fox’s tv reality show “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Roldan, a 20-year-old contemporary dancer graduated from Westlake High School and currently resides in North Hollywood.

Roldan began taking classes at Bobbie’s School of Performing Arts in Newbury Park when he was 11. He says he was originally “forced into” dancing but now loves it, having performed on Dancing with the Stars and worked with well-known choreographers and dancers such as Travis Wall and Mandy Moore.

After graduating from Westlake High School, Roldan performed with the Bad Boys of Dance Company for 18 months.

Current Thousand Oaks resident Melinda Sullivan also competed on the program but was eliminated earlier in the season.

Whatever happens this evening, Roldan will be part of the “So You Think You Can Dance” national tour, which begins in New Orleans on Sept. 19 and comes to the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Nov. 16.

Tonight’s episode of “So You Think You Can Dance” airs at 8 p.m. on Fox, with the results of America’s vote announced during the episode that airs at 9 p.m. Thursday.
